Most platforms make you guess at setup. Agency Pulse tries to do the opposite. The signup flow asks a few simple questions, then routes you down the right path based on your situation. No guessing, no wrong turns.
Whether you're a licensed agent writing business, an Agency Owner running a team, or someone not yet in the industry, there's a path through onboarding built for you. This guide walks through every option so you know what to expect before you sign up.
You write sales personally and want to track your business.
You run a team and want to manage your agency.
You're helping someone else run their account.
The Basics
Before you start, here's how Agency Pulse onboarding works. The whole flow takes a few minutes and routes you to the right starting place based on your situation.
Enter your name, email, and phone, then pick your IMO from the dropdown (PHP, Symmetry, GFI, and more). Optionally, link to your direct recruiter using their Agency Pulse code. This puts you in their hierarchy so they can see your activity and sales. You can skip this step and link later if you don't have their code yet.
Add a profile photo so teammates can recognize you in leaderboards and hierarchies. Then pick your role: Agent if you write business, or Agency Owner if you run a team. If you're strictly an assistant (not writing business yourself), sign up as an Agent too.
If you're actively submitting business, choose Licensed & Appointed. If you're still working toward your license or you're licensed not yet writing business, choose Not Licensed & Appointed. This is the big fork that decides where you land.
Not licensed or writing business yet? You go straight to the Onboarding Dashboard to start tracking your licensing & independence journey. Already licensed & independent? You'll enter your card info to kick off the 30-day Pro trial, then land on the full dashboard with every tool unlocked.
For Agents
Most people signing up are agents. You write sales, you track your activity, you want to see your numbers. Agency Pulse is built around your daily workflow.
Sign up first
Head to getagencypulse.com and click Sign Up. You'll be asked a few questions:
- Your name, email, and phone — standard account stuff.
- Are you an Agent or an Agency Owner? — pick Agent.
- Are you already licensed and appointed? — this is the big fork.
The two agent paths
For agents actively writing business today. You have your state license, you've been appointed by at least one carrier, and you're ready to start logging sales. You'll add a payment method through Stripe (no charge during the trial), your 30-day Pro trial starts immediately, and you unlock the full producer toolkit: New Business tracker, Activity Tracker, Activity Score, PFR builder, Analytics, Pattern Insights, Leaderboard, and more. After the trial, Pro continues at $39/month unless you cancel. Your Agency Pulse code appears in the top-left corner of the sidebar after signup. Codes look like F47B78.
For people in the process of becoming an agent who haven't gotten their license yet, AND for fully licensed agents who are still learning how to write business independently. Maybe you're studying for the exam, waiting on background checks, haven't picked a state yet, or you're licensed but still in training before going independent. No payment required — you're on the free tier. You unlock the Onboarding section, which walks through every milestone of getting licensed and independent: studying, scheduling the exam, passing, getting fingerprinted, getting appointed by carriers, training, and more. As you mark milestones complete, the system tracks your progress. When you finish and indicate you're licensed and independent, you'll be prompted to upgrade to Pro to start writing business.
Linking to your recruiter
Link to whoever directly recruited you in your IMO so you show up in their hierarchy. Two ways to do it:
- During signup — there's a field asking for your recruiter's Agency Pulse code. Enter it there.
- After signup — bottom-left of the sidebar, click Link to Recruiter and enter the code.
What unlocks for agents on the Pro tier
Once your agent account is set up (licensed path), you have access to:
- Home dashboard — your daily snapshot of activity, sales, and goals
- Activity Tracker — log dials, texts, appointments, sit-downs, PFRs, and custom activity types
- Activity Score — your composite score showing how disciplined your daily work is
- New / In-Force Business — full pipeline from app submission through commission, plus your in-force book (life + annuity)
- PFR builder — the Personal Financial Review tool, with DIME, Cash Flow, Investments, Risk Tolerance, What's at Risk, and exportable client-ready PDF
- Onboarding — your licensing/appointment milestones (also visible to your recruiter if linked)
- Leaderboard — see how you stack up across your agency
- Resources — agency-owner provided training and reference docs
- Analytics — deeper cuts on your activity-to-sale conversion, source performance, and more
- Pattern Insights — automated detection of trends in your business
- Manage Admins — invite assistants to help run your account (see the Admin Setup guide for full details)
- Account — profile, billing, licenses, admin management, and recruiter linking
For Agency Owners
If you're running a team — recruiting, building, and leading an agency — the Agency Owner path is what you want. You get full access to everything an agent gets on the Pro tier, with an agency-management layer added on top so you can manage your agency alongside your own production.
Sign up first
Head to getagencypulse.com and click Sign Up. Same opening questions as agents:
- Name, email, phone
- Are you an Agent or an Agency Owner? — pick Agency Owner.
- Are you already licensed and appointed? — every Agency Owner picks "yes" here.
What an Agency Owner gets
Agency Owners get everything in the Pro agent tier — every producer tool, every dashboard, every report. On top of that, you get the agency-management layer. Here's what's different or expanded for you:
- Hierarchy view — view, edit, and track all business and activity for everyone in your immediate agency. For anyone in your first-generation agencies and beyond, you'll have view-and-track access only (no edits).
- Agency-wide leaderboards, analytics, and pattern insights — same tools agents see, but expanded to cover everyone in your agency, not just yourself
- Resources — upload links to scripts, PowerPoints, training videos, and any other reference materials. Just paste the link and it'll be visible to your immediate agency by default.
Your Agency Pulse code is your recruiting tool
Your AP code (top-left of sidebar, looks like F47B78) is how agents you recruit link to you. Share it with anyone you want in your agency. They enter it during their signup, and they show up in your hierarchy immediately.
Pro trial works the same
You get the 30-day Pro trial just like agents do. After 30 days it converts to a paid Pro account at $39/month per paid user unless you cancel.
For Admins and Assistants
If someone is inviting you to be their admin — meaning you'll help manage their Agency Pulse account on their behalf — the onboarding path is slightly different.
Sign up at the right tier
You'll need an Agency Pulse account before you can be added as an admin. Sign up at getagencypulse.com:
- If you ARE an agent (you write sales personally) and you'll also be helping an Agency Owner as admin, sign up like any other agent: create your account, select your IMO, optionally link to your direct recruiter, upload your photo, pick Agent as your role, and choose Licensed & Appointed for your license status. You'll add your card info to start the 30-day Pro trial. This gets you your own producer tools AND admin abilities on top.
- If you're NOT in the business (strictly an assistant, no writing sales), sign up as an agent and choose Not Licensed & Appointed. You'll land on the free tier with no charge, and that covers you indefinitely.
After you sign up
Share your AP code with the Agency Owner. They'll invite you, and you can accept from your Account page. Full details in the Admin Setup & Details guide.
What happens right after signup
Once you finish the 4 signup steps, you'll land in one of two places depending on the license status you picked. From there, your next moves depend on which tier you're on.
If you picked Not Licensed & Appointed
You land on your Onboarding Dashboard — your home base for getting licensed, trained, and independent. The first thing to do here is pick your license state. From there, the dashboard walks you through every milestone of getting fully licensed and trained: studying, scheduling the exam, passing, getting fingerprinted, getting appointed by carriers, training, and more. Your trainer will mark milestones as you complete them so you can always see your progress.
Suggested next moves once you're in:
This is your resident state you will be taking your exam in.
Top-left of the sidebar, right under your profile photo. Codes look like F47B78. You'll need to provide this if your recruiter wants to add you to their agency, or if you ever eventually want to add anyone to your agency. This is how everyone connects.
Bottom-left of the sidebar, click Link to Recruiter and enter their 6-character Agency Pulse code. This puts you in their hierarchy so they can see your onboarding progress and help you get through it smoothly.
The Onboarding Dashboard is your roadmap. Work the milestones in order and you'll be fully licensed, trained, and independent before you know it!
If you picked Licensed & Appointed
You land on your Home Dashboard — your command center. This is where every activity metric you'll be measured on lives: dials, texts, appointments, sales, activity, your goals, and more. As you use the platform day-to-day, this is the screen you'll come back to.
Suggested next moves once you're in:
Look around. The tiles show your daily snapshot of activity, sales, and goals. This is the screen you'll see first every time you log in.
Top-left of the sidebar, right under your profile photo. Codes look like F47B78. You'll need this when getting added as an admin or recruiting agents into your agency.
Bottom-left of the sidebar, click Link to Recruiter and enter their 6-character Agency Pulse code. This puts you in their hierarchy.
Open the Activity Tracker and log a dial, text, or appointment. This kicks off your Activity Score and gets you into the rhythm of the platform. Heads up: activity is timestamped for analytics, so it's critical to log as you go throughout the day — don't mass-update everything at the end. The timing data is what powers your analytics and insights.
Common Questions
What if I picked the wrong path during signup?
No problem. Head to your Account page, scroll down to Plan & Billing, and click the 30 Day Free Trial button. That'll automatically move you into the fully Licensed & Appointed Pro tier.
Can I be on Pro and free tier at the same time?
No. Your account is one tier or the other. You start on free if you signed up "not yet licensed", and upgrade to Pro when you're ready to produce.
And if you picked the wrong role at signup (Agent when you should've picked Agency Owner, or vice versa), no big deal — you can change it any time in your profile settings.
Does my hierarchy see my data?
Your recruiter sees your activity and sales (that's the whole point of the recruiter relationship). Your agency owner sees agency-wide aggregates. Anyone below you or to the side of you in the hierarchy doesn't see your data unless they're acting as an admin you've granted.
What if my recruiter isn't on Agency Pulse?
You can still sign up. Skip the "Link to Recruiter" step. You can link to them later when they join, or just operate as a standalone agent.
How do I cancel my Pro trial?
Account → Billing → Cancel. You won't get a refund for the current cycle, but you'll keep access to all Pro tools until the cycle expires.
Does it work on mobile?
Signup works on mobile, but the platform is designed for desktop. Mobile will likely deliver a poor user experience. The exciting news is that a mobile app is already in development, so stay tuned for that!
Key Rules to Remember
Agent vs. Agency Owner is the big fork. Everything downstream depends on it.
Already licensed = Pro trial. Not yet licensed = free tier until you're ready.
It's your forever identifier on the platform.
Pick carefully. This relationship defines who sees your data.
No producing of your own = no charge.
Cancel anytime before it ends to avoid the bill.
